Weight loss pills, sometimes known as "Fat-Burners" or thermogenics, are supplements designed to help you lose weight or "burn fat."
What is a thermogenic? A thermogenic is a supplement designed to increase your body's temperature, thereby speeding up your metabolism and increasing blood flow to help you burn more calories and more fat in the process.
Thermogenics can range from natural sources, such as green tea or apple cider vinegar, to caffeine paired with things like ephedrine.
Although these pills may increase your metabolism and make you feel more energetic, alert and focused, they still won't do the work for you. Every health, wellness and exercise plan boils down to the same basic fundamentals of diet and exercise at the core.
Although the advertisements will sell them as the "Best weight loss pills ever" or "miracle pills," it is important to do your own research, know your body, and consult with your physician before taking anything. Things like caffeine, ephedrine, and other stimulants or "uppers" can have some undesirable, even severe, side effects, including insomnia, anxiety, addiction and gastrointestinal problems to name a few. They may also lead to changes in heart rate.
Is there a "Best weight loss pill?" Some may be more effective than others at giving you a temporary burst of energy but, there is no substitute for a balanced diet and a consistent, comprehensive exercise plan.
